CONGRATULATIONS to our employee, Kathy Jenkins for her Grand Champion award at the
Adams County 4-H Fair for her project in the category of geology (level 3).
Her project will continue on to the Indiana State Fair in August. This is Kathy's 7th 4-H Grand Champion award.

We had the pleasure of sponsoring Mitchell Voglewede in his 2012-2013 season for the Fort Wayne Youth
Hockey travel team. He stopped by last week and brought us this beautiful plaque and
autographed picture of himself.
Eileen Eichhorn of Eichhorn Jewelry recently spoke to the local Optimist club. Her presentation
"50 things you may not know about GOLD" traced a brief history of the precious
metal as well as the extreme volatility of the commodities market during our current economic

Team Eichhorn Jewelry won the 85th Annual Women's Bowling State Championship in Lafayette, Indiana.

Eichhorn’s win state bowling
A foursome of local women bowlers topped the field at bowling's state level recently.
Team Eichhorn Jewelry recently completed in the 85th Annual Women’s State Championship in Lafayette, Indiana.
They competed with the best in Division I, and came in first place with a team score of 2890.
The team, consisting of Nici Strack, Kate Dyer, Denise Everett and Jessica Davis were thrilled with taking top honors.
Team captain Kate Dyer stated “We knew we did well, but it was a tense couple of weeks waiting for the final standings to be posted."
Jessica Davis placed third in all events and 11th in the singles competition. She also finished in first place in the State 600 Club – a singles event. Nici Strack finished in 26th place in all events, and she came in second place in the State 600 Club.
The team will be traveling to Logansport on June 16th for a gala to honor the first place bowlers.

Eileen Eichhorn Donates American Cut: The First 100 Years to Adams Public Library System
The Gemological Institute of America graduate Eileen Eichhorn has announced the recent donation of the book,
American Cut: the First 100 Years, to the Adams Public Library System.
This donation is in participation with the GIA Richard T. Liddicoat Library and Information Center that provided 1,000 copies to be
made available to libraries across the nation through the local GIA Alumni Chapters.
American Cut: The First 100 Years, written by Al Gilbertson, a well-regarded GIA research associate,
and published by GIA, follows the history and chronology of American diamond cutting. It describes the early stages
of the European diamond cutting industry, and how American ideas and inventions
influenced diamond cutting eventually changing diamond cutting around the world.
"I am pleased to make this book accessible to our local community," said Eileen Eichhorn.
"This book is an important resource on diamond cutting that will educate readers on the history."
American Cut: The First 100 Years is now available at Adams Public Library System. For additional information or to get a copy of the American Cut, visit www.gia.edu and click on "Instruments and Books."
